If you are in the mood to find a place off the beaten path, De Leon, Texas is the perfect place to visit. It can be found about 2.5 hours southwest of the DFW area, 30 miles south of I-20. It is a very quaint and quiet area that will provide your next trip with ample history, a unique shopping experience, a local lake to fish in with breathtaking scenery, as well dining and lodging options. It is also home to one of the oldest festivals in Texas. It’s slogan is actually busiest town, friendliest people and a visual story of the area can be found in a mural form on what is known to locals as “The Wall Of Recall” located at 166 N Texas St.

However, before you make the final decision to visit De Leon, we must warn you that if you are expecting traffic and long lines, it will disappoint you. Most of what we have to offer are just smiling faces and millions of stars to be seen at night.
